Expansion coefficients

Hi IBK.

According to Delphin 6 material file specification the thermal and hygric expansion coefficients can be added to the material file like this:

[MECHANICAL_BASE_PARAMETERS]
ALPHA = 0.1 mm/mK
BETA_THETA_L = 0.2 m3m/m3m

However, when I try to do this, i get an error

"Unit 'mm/mK' not found
Error reading material base parameter section!"

By some random chance, i managed to get it read by having the unit "m". Note the contradiction between "m" in the tree view and "mm/mK" on the right:

... but it doesn't show up in D6 material viewer, couldn't find any expansion related outputs either - I presume it to be deprecated/not implemented yet?

Is the expansion calculation usable?
Which units should I use in the material file to get them properly read by Delphin?

Hello,

The handling of the expansion coefficients is not fully implemented. As example you found an errror in the unit handling. I will check this and fix any error i can find.
The Delphin 6 material viewer show only some basic properties. A real material viewer and editor is in work.
Currently expansion coefficients are not used in Delphin.

Yes, the expansion coefficients are never used (D5 and D6).
We had applied for a project where we would have needed this data. But the project was ultimately not approved. But we had already changed the material specification and then left it at that. We might need it later.
